Janet Wentling

Past: Pennsylvania Ballet, San Francisco Ballet

Janet Wentling received her early training in Los Angeles, California before studying at the Pennsylvania Ballet School and San Francisco Ballet School. Janet spent two summer intensives at the Banff Festival of Fine Arts training with Natalia Zolotova, then ballet mistress for the graduating class of the Bolshoi Ballet Academy.
Janet performed with the Pennsylvania Ballet, the San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco Dance Spectrum, and Minnesota Dance Theatre where she portrayed numerous roles in both classical and contemporary ballet.
Under the mentorship of Francia Russell, Janet completed the Pacific Northwest Ballet School Teacher Certification for all levels of the Professional Student Division. She was recipient of a Jerome Foundation grant for training in dance education at the International Dance Festival in Köln, Germany.
She has been on faculty at the Minnesota Dance Theatre School, Ballet Arts Minnesota, and the University of Minnesota Dance Department. Since moving to Rochester, Janet has been teaching dance in various studios in the area and served in numerous capacities at the New York State Ballet company and school.
Passionate about health and wellness, Janet will complete her certification in health coaching for the low carb lifestyle in early 2026.
Janet's first love will always be dance, and she takes great joy in guiding dancers on their journey from student to artist.
