Cinderella Auditions
We’re excited to announce auditions for our next full-length ballet, Cinderella, on Saturday, February 7th, 2026, at the Rochester City Ballet Studios. This is a wonderful opportunity for your dancers to gain valuable experience performing alongside a professional company and be part of a magical, family-favorite production.
The performances will take place April 25–26, 2026, at Rochester Institute of Technology’s Panara Theatre, and we’d love to see your dancers join us onstage!
All dancers ages 5–18 are welcome, and registration is required online before the audition.
Dancers ages 5-10
•Registration: 4:30 PM
•Audition: 5:00PM-5:45PM
•No dance experience required
•Please note: Dancers ages 9-10 may be asked to attend a “callback” audition on Saturday, February 7th at 5:45pm
Dancers ages 11-18
•Registration: 5:15 PM
•Audition: 5:45PM-7:30PM
•Dance experience required
Parent Observation Week
We invite parents or guardians to watch their dancer in class the week of February 9th. Chairs will be available in the studios for quiet observation of what the students are working on this year.
YAGP Open Rehearsal
A last group rehearsal for those representing the School of Rochester City Ballet at Youth America Grand Prix. Every dancer participating will have the chance to dance in front of their peers in costume. Come support your friends and family in their last rehearsal before leaving for competition.
Cinderella at RIT
After more than three decades, Cinderella returns to the RIT stage! Rochester City Ballet is proud to present this full-length fairytale classic at RIT’s School of Performing Arts, complete with breathtaking costumes, captivating music, and spellbinding choreography. It’s a magical experience you won’t want to miss.

Carnival of the Animals Camp
Join us for a magical journey through Carnival of the Animals in this playful ballet and creative movement class designed especially for little dancers ages 3 to 6! Each week, we’ll explore the enchanting music of Saint-Saëns, bringing animals like the swan, elephant, lion, and kangaroo to life through imaginative movement and introductory ballet steps.
Children will express themselves through dance, storytelling, and rhythm, all while developing coordination, creativity, and confidence in a nurturing environment. Every class also includes a themed arts and crafts activity that complements the animal of the day—perfect for sparking young imaginations!
No prior dance experience needed. Just bring your curiosity, energy, and love for animals!

Kick off your summer with a week full of energy, creativity, and movement! Our Young Dancer Summer Workshop is perfect for dancers ages 6–9 looking to grow their skills and have a blast doing it.
Throughout the week, dancers will explore ballet, jazz, and stretching in a fun, positive, and supportive environment. Each class is designed to build confidence, improve technique, and encourage a love for dance—all while making new friends and great memories.
Whether your dancer is new to dance or continuing their training, this is the perfect way to start the summer on the right foot!
August One-Week Workshop

Peter & the Wolf Camp
Join us for a magical two-day summer camp inspired by the beloved ballet Peter & The Wolf! Designed especially for little dancers ages 3–5, this enchanting experience will take place on June 24th and 26th from 4:30–5:30 PM.
Each day, campers will explore the story through creative movement, gentle stretching, storytelling, crafts, and more. Your child will dance like the bird, stomp like the wolf, and let their imagination soar as they bring each character to life in a playful and nurturing environment.
No prior dance experience needed—just a love for movement and imagination!

Fall Placement Class Ages 10-13
Interested in joining the School of the Rochester City Ballet for the 2025-26 school year? Our Placement Class is the perfect opportunity for students ages 10-13 to be assessed by our experienced faculty. This one-hour trial class will help determine the most appropriate level for each student based on age, technique, and overall ability.
